When not performing around the UK the horses enjoy taking riders on days out in the Brecon Beacons. A typical Welsh Horse mountain ride comprises between 4 and 5 hours of canter/gallop, taking in open moorland, forest trails and a swim in the Usk reservoir, with a hearty picnic at start and finish.
